The highlight of the season so far undoubtedly must be our overall victory against some of our fiercest rivals at the fixture at Oundle. There were superb performances from the year 9 team who were runaway winners in their agegroup by a huge margin of 54 points with the relay team of Nathan Graham, Charlie Kay, James Hounslow and Hayden Young setting a new Junior 4 x 100m record of 50.68. Tom Taylor set a new school long jump record today during the junior house tri-activity. He won the competition by an impressive margin of 27 points, setting a new record of 4.68 - a whole 6 cm further than Jonathan Edwards mark of 4.62 from 1991. A number of excellent performances were posted this week by year 7 & 8 athletes in the East Area Prep Schools Championships in Bedford. Jack Chisholm in year 7 was the star of the day setting a new school record in the High Jump of 1.44m and securing selection for the national championships in Birmingham on 2nd July. Other superb performances came from Tristan-Roper Caldbeck and Louis Grimoldby who both finished third in their events and narrowly missed out on selection. The Colts team finished in an excellent third position this weekend at the 8 schools fixture in Rugby - a superb performance against some very tough opposition. The Juniors finished sixth and the Seniors seventh - a pleasing performance considering a number of key athletes were not able to compete. The Colts relay team set a new school record this weekend at the fixture in Corby. The team (Hawkins, Michels, Groutage and Bangay) set a new time of 47.50 shaving four 10ths of a second off the previous mark.
